Global Health Squads are designed to resolve public health challenges while learning to identify the underlying and systemic issues that cause them.

Global Health Squads

Global health squads examine the social determinants of health in the community while leading educational workshops in the fields of:

  • Dental Hygiene
  • Hand-Washing ​Hygiene and Sanitation
  • Health and Nutrition

Enrichment projects may include:

  • Distributing dental supplies and educational materials
  • Providing or refurbishing hand-washing stations
  • Designing and creating educational murals and bulletins
  • Building of community gardens

Global health squads perform educational workshops in:

  • Dental
  • Optometry
  • ​Hygiene and Sanitation
  • Health and Nutrition

Enrichment projects may include:

  • Distributing dental supplies and educational materials
  • Administering optometry screenings and disbursement of reading glasses
  • Building of community gardens
  • Providing or refurbishing wash stations

CCS Squads partner with local community organizations to improve health and educational outcomes.

In addition to hands-on volunteer activities, Squad programs include professional guest speakers, educational workshops, cross cultural sensitivity training, and engaging cultural activities.  Base programs are one-week in duration.  Additional add-on adventure activities and overnight excursions to exciting in-country destinations also available.

Volunteers make an Individual Program Contribution of $990 per week to cover all their in-country expenses, including a stay at our safe and private Home-Base accommodation.  All meals, transportation, staffing, and emergency medical insurance are included. Additionally Squads fundraise towards a Group Project Contribution of $1500 or more.

Squads may be comprised of 5 or more students and require a minimum of one adult/chaperone for every five students enrolled.  Individual Program Contributions are free for all required chaperones.
